“Life is Beatiful” was directed by Roberto Benigni. It stars Roberto Benigni as Guido
Orefice, who plays the part of a Jewish man. The film won three Oscars in 1997
for Best Foreign Language film, Best soundtrack, and Best main character.
The film is
set in an Italian village in the 1943. It was filmed on location in Tuscany.
The film is
about living in Italy during the Second World War, when Jewish persecution was
started. At the beginning of the film, Guido meets Dora and they fall in love
with each other. After this they have a child, who is called Giosue’. When the
war starts they are put in concentration camp; Guido tells his son that the war
is like a game and so they have to play to win a prize.
I strongly recommend
“Life is Beautiful.” It makes you laugh and cry, and it has memorable
soundtrack. You can understand that life and love win against war.
