Pretty Woman - Sofia and Mimmo

Pretty woman was directed by Gary Marshall. It stars Julia Roberts as the prostitute Vivian and Richard Gere as the rich businessman Edward. Julia Roberts won the Golden globe for the best actress in 1991.

The film was set in Los Angeles and filmed on location, in 1989.

The film is about an escort who is called by Edward. At the beginning the rich man pays her to spend time together and during the film they fall in love; but he isn’t sure about his feelings for her. The best scene is when Vivian goes to an elegant boutique and the shop assistant doesn’t sell her anything, because she looks like a prostitute.

We recommend this film. It’s a lovely rom-com and it tells you that in love there aren’t barriers.

La Vita è Bella - Giovanni and Michele

“LA VITA è BELLA” was directed by Roberto Benigni. It stars Benigni, his child and his wife, that is his wife in life too. The film won many Oscars, like for the best film and the best soundtrack.

The film is set in a Tuscan town and in a concentration camp in Poland in 1940, and it was filmed on location.  The film is about the life of a Jewish family, during the Hitler’s persecution in the Second World War. It’s the story of a father that changes the meaning of the holocaust for his son like a game.

I strongly recommend La Vita è Bella to everyone. This is a film that can change your mentality and it can teach you that every hard thing can be a fantastic game.

La Migliore Offerta - Anna and Maria Rosa

The film “L’ultima offerta” was directed by Giuseppe Tornatore in 2012. It was filmed above all in Prague. Two of the main actors are Geoffrey Rush, who starts as the main character, and Donald Sutherland, who plays the role of his best friend.

The film is about a very unsociable auctioneer who has collected a treasure-trove in works of art during his career. One day he meets a young girl and in a very complicated way he falls in love with her. In the end he discovers that the girl, his friend, the events that happened and all his life were a great lie.

I strongly recommend this film because it is like a thriller without any killing, it’s gripping and moving at the same time. It’s also unforgettable because it has an unexpected end that will surprise you.

Life is Beautiful - Desiree and Carlo

“Life is Beatiful” was directed by Roberto Benigni. It stars Roberto Benigni as Guido Orefice, who plays the part of a Jewish man. The film won three Oscars in 1997 for Best Foreign Language film, Best soundtrack, and Best main character.

The film is set in an Italian village in the 1943. It was filmed on location in Tuscany.

The film is about living in Italy during the Second World War, when Jewish persecution was started. At the beginning of the film, Guido meets Dora and they fall in love with each other. After this they have a child, who is called Giosue’. When the war starts they are put in concentration camp; Guido tells his son that the war is like a game and so they have to play to win a prize.

I strongly recommend “Life is Beautiful.” It makes you laugh and cry, and it has memorable soundtrack. You can understand that life and love win against war.
